High School Musical The Musical: The Series Season 3 Filming Begins This Week!

We ain't seen nothing yet...😉 But here's what we know so far!

The doors to East High closed this summer and we were left with many unanswered questions... will Nini and Ricky get back together? Did East High win? Are Lily and Ricky getting together? Well, hopefully all our questions are about to be answered!

This month, it was Disney + day and it was revealed that the musical theme for the season is Frozen!

It was also revealed that season 3 will take place in a summer camp (and rumoured to be the one that Nini and EJ met at in season 1). The season will not feature East High as filming has been relocated to a sound stage in Los Angeles rather than East High in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The full cast has not been announced, but as filming commences this week I'm sure members of the cast will post to socials. If they do, I will update this article with any updates and a full cast list! The burning question at the moment, is about Olivia and there is no official confirmation of anyone returning to the show- however, it was mentioned before that Olivia legally contracted to the show for a few more years so she will legally have to do whatever Disney decide. However, being located in Los Angeles this season will make it easier for all the cast to resume with other projects at the same time if needs be.

According to Salty Pictures, the series is set to begin filming on December 2nd 2021 and if every thing goes to plan, wrap on March 11th! Filming for Season 2 stopped around the end of February this year, however they already did 2 months of filming prior to COVID. So in theory, season 3 SHOULD be released two months later than season 2 making it be released around July time. This would be fitting with the summer theme! That's all we know for now, but if anything else is released in the next few weeks I will update this page, so come back for updates :)
